BETTS BACK FOR HEAT

Townsville Basketball have secured their reigning MVP for the NBL1 North with Ethan Betts agreeing to lead the Townsville Heat in the 2023 season.

After an outstanding 2022 season his signature was in demand with approaches made from a number of other clubs but Betts decided to stay loyal to his home grown club and wear the blue and gold again next season.

“I am really excited to be playing for the Townsville Heat again”, said Betts.

“I really enjoy being around the group of guys we have here”.

“We always have a strong group of friends both on and off the court”.

“I expect a better season on the court in 2023 and would love to be back playing in the finals once again.”

Securing Betts signature was a key priority for new coach Shane Froling when looking to construct the 2023 roster.

“It’s great to have Ethan back on board with the Heat”, said Froling.

“He is a Townsville junior who is growing his game to the highest level.”

“I see Ethan being a main focus for the opposition as his scoring abilities are huge. I look forward to putting the pieces together and watching Ethan continue to develop his game.”

More announcements will be made for the NBL1 program this week with another three players to be revealed this week.
