REID RETURNS FOR FLAMES

JCU Townsville Fire superstar and 2022 NBL1 North Finals Most Valuable Player Steph Reid will stay in the A.Gabrielli Constructions Townsville Flames uniform again in 2023.

After leading the team to the 2022 NBL1 North title, Reid has agreed to extend her stay in Townsville under new Head Coach James Rapinett.

“I’m super excited to stay in Townsville. This place has become home for me and I’m excited to be a part of Jimmy’s first year head coaching in the league”, said Reid.

“He is an amazing guy and we all have a lot of faith in him to be an amazing coach”.

“It will also be an awesome benefit to continue to work with Shannon again in the off-season and keep growing my game”.

Reid was understandable the prime target for Rapinett in putting together his roster for 2023.

“I am really excited to have Steph returning to our NBL1 program for the 2023 season”, said Rapinett.

“After coming off an MVP calibre NBL1 season and having an outstanding start to the WNBL season I can’t wait to see her game continue to flourish and grow here in Townsville.”

“Steph brings a long all the intangible stuff a coach looks for; her leadership and dedication are second to none and I know she will continue to bring that in the 2023 season.”

More announcements will be made for the NBL1 program this week with another three players to be revealed this week.
