Reid to spark flames

The Townsville Flames will be looking to burn up the court in the 2021 NBL1 North with the confirmation of pocket rocket Stephanie Reid signing on for the season.

Coming off a great first season in the WNBL Hub with the JCU Townsville Fire, the Flames have been able to convince Steph that Townsville would be great for her continued development in the winter.

“I’m thrilled to have Steph join the Flames for the upcoming NBL1 season. Coming off the back of a breakout WNBL campaign with the Townsville Fire, I think she is going to be one of the most exciting players in the NBL1 North competition” said Townsville Flames Head Coach Shannon Seebohm.

“She is obviously a very talented scorer and defender but most importantly a great person and teammate. I know she is passionate about getting out into the basketball community in Townsville and is sure to be a great role model for all of the young girls and boys playing junior basketball here.”

Reid is currently taking a well-earned break away from the court and will arrive back in Townsville around the middle of April.

“I’m really excited to get back up to Townsville and be a part of the Flames. I’ve heard really good things about the club and I’m even more excited to get to play under Shannon for another season”, said Reid.

“Townsville became like home to me in the short WNBL season so I can’t wait to get back and get more involved in the Townsville basketball community.”

The Flames hope to make more player announcements for the upcoming NBL1 season shortly.
